DATA PROTECTION
DATA PROTECTION DECLARATION - THE BASICS
A privacy policy is a statement that discloses some or all of the ways in which a website collects, uses, discloses, processes, and manages personal information about its visitors and customers. It usually also includes a statement of the website's commitment to protecting the privacy of its visitors or customers and an explanation of the various mechanisms the website implements to protect privacy.
Different jurisdictions have different requirements for the content of a privacy policy. Website operators are therefore responsible for complying with the relevant legislation for their activities and location.
CONTENTS OF A DATA PROTECTION DECLARATION
Privacy Policy
1. Data Protection Explained in Brief
General Information
The protection of personal data is considered a fundamental right under the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which applies to each of us individually.
Data protection laws grant us all the right to know at any time what happens with our personal data, the purposes for which they are used, and what rights we have as the owners of this data.
All of this is outlined in the following privacy policy. Here you can easily understand what happens with your data when you visit our website.
If you have further questions, please feel free to contact the responsible authority mentioned below.
2. Data Collection on This Website
Who is responsible for the data collection?
The website operator is responsible for the data processing on this website. The contact information of the operator can be found in the section “Responsible Authority” under point 4 (General Information and Mandatory Information) of this privacy policy.
How is your data collected?
Some of your data is automatically collected when you visit our website by our IT system. This includes technical or functional data, such as the type of browser you use, your operating system, or the time of the page visit.
Other data is collected with your consent, such as when you agree to the use of cookies.
Other data is collected because you voluntarily provide it to us, such as when entering information in a contact form.
What do we use your data for?
Some data is collected to ensure the error-free provision of the website. These are the technical or functional data described above. Other data may be used to analyze your user behavior.
What rights do you have concerning the processing of your data?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) grants you various rights regarding the processing of your personal data. You have the right to receive free information about the origin, recipients, and purpose of the processing of your personal data at any time. You also have the right to request the correction or deletion of this data.
If you have given consent for data processing, you can withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future.
Additionally, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data under certain circumstances.
You also have the right to file a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority if you believe that your data is being processed unlawfully. (see the section "Right to Complain to the Competent Supervisory Authority")
For any further questions, please feel free to contact the responsible person.
Analysis Tools and Third-Party Tools
When you visit this website, your browsing behavior may be statistically analyzed. Detailed information about these analysis tools can be found in the following sections of this privacy policy.
3. Hosting
Our website is hosted by a web hosting provider. When you visit our website, this provider collects various data, including your IP address. The legal basis for this hosting is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in ensuring the error-free and reliable presentation of our website.
We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider. This agreement ensures that your personal data is processed only according to our instructions and in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
4. General Information and Mandatory Information
Data Protection
We treat your personal data confidentially and comply with all data protection laws. However, we also point out that data transmission over the internet may not be completely secure. Complete protection of data against unauthorized access by third parties is unfortunately not possible.
Responsible Authority
The responsible authority for data processing on this website is:
BETA Elektrotechnik GmbH
Am Logistik Park 3
85416 Langenbach
Managing Directors:
Mehmed Celik, Mesut Soylak
Phone: +49 (0) 8761 722 635 160

Storage Duration
From a data protection perspective, the question of how long processed records may be stored is important. Personal data may only be processed and stored for specific, legitimate, and clear purposes according to Article 5(1)(b) of the GDPR. Once the purpose is no longer relevant, the data must be deleted.
However, statutory retention periods apply, as set out in laws such as the Tax Code (AO), the Commercial Code (HGB), and other regulations. These retention periods establish a new legitimate purpose, meaning personal data must continue to be processed and stored, even if the original purpose no longer applies.
Legal Basis for Data Processing on This Website
Under Article 13 of the GDPR, we are required to inform you of the legal grounds for processing your personal data. If these are not separately specified in individual sections of our privacy policy, the following legal bases apply:
-
Consent collection: Art. 6(1)(a), Art. 7, and Art. 9(2)(a) of the GDPR
-
Processing to fulfill our services and perform contractual actions or respond to inquiries: Art. 6(1)(b) of the GDPR
-
Processing to fulfill our legal obligations: Art. 6(1)(c) of the GDPR
-
Processing to safeguard our legitimate interests: Art. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR
-
Processing to protect the vital interests of the data subject or another individual: Art. 6(1)(d) of the GDPR
If you have granted consent for the processing of certain data, we process this data additionally on the basis of Art. 9(1) of the GDPR if it concerns special categories of personal data.
If you have agreed to store personal data, the data processing additionally occurs based on § 25(1) TTDSG.
You may revoke your consent at any time, but only with future effect, not retroactively.
Note on Data Transfer to the USA and Other Third Countries
We use tools from companies based in the USA or other countries that do not offer adequate data protection standards. When these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to these countries and processed there.
Please note that data protection in these countries may not be at a level comparable to that of the EU. For example, U.S. companies are required to hand over personal data to security agencies without you being able to take legal action. It cannot be ruled out that U.S. authorities (e.g., intelligence agencies) may process, analyze, and permanently store your data for surveillance purposes. We have no influence over such activities.
Right to Complain to the Competent Supervisory Authority
In case of a data protection violation, you have the right to file a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. The supervisory authority in Bavaria is:
Bayerische Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz
Postal Address:
Postfach 22 12 19, 80502 Munich
Phone: +49 89 212672-0
Fax: +49 89 212672-50
Email: poststelle(at)datenschutz-bayern.de
Right to Data Portability
You have the right to request that data we process based on your consent or another legal basis be provided to you or a third party in a commonly used, machine-readable format. However, if you request the direct transfer of data to another controller, this must be technically feasible.
SSL or TLS Encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transfer of confidential information that you send to us, our website uses SSL or TLS encryption. This ensures that the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Access, Deletion, and Rectification
The current data protection regulations grant you the right to request free access to your stored personal data, its origin, recipients, and the purpose of data processing at any time. You may also have the right to request rectification or deletion of this data. You can contact us at any time for this purpose.
Right to Restriction of Processing
You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. The right to restrict processing applies in the following cases:
-
If you doubt the accuracy of your personal data stored with us, we need sufficient time to verify it. During this verification period, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
-
If we have processed your personal data unlawfully, you can request the restriction of data processing instead of deletion.
-
If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it for the assertion, defense, or establishment of legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of deletion.
-
If you have filed an objection under Article 21(1) of the GDPR, a balance must be struck between your and our interests. You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data until it is determined whose interests prevail.
If the processing of your personal data has been restricted, such data – except for its storage – may only be processed with your consent or to assert, exercise, or defend legal claims, or to protect the rights of another natural or legal person, or for reasons of substantial public interest of the European Union or a Member State.
5. Data Collection on this Website
Cookies
Cookies serve various functions. Some are technically necessary to enable specific website features, while others are used to analyze user behavior or display advertisements.
Cookies are small text files that are temporarily stored on your device for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies), without damaging your device.
Session cookies are automatically deleted after your visit.
Permanent cookies remain on your device until you delete them or until they are automatically deleted by your web browser.
Sometimes third-party cookies may also be stored on your device when you visit our site (third-party cookies). These allow us or you to use certain services of the third party.
Cookies that are necessary for the completion of the electronic communication process, for providing certain features you request, or for optimizing the website are stored based on Art. 6, Para. 1, lit. f GDPR, unless another legal basis is provided. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing necessary cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of services.
If consent is requested for the storage of cookies and similar recognition technologies, processing will only take place based on this consent (Art. 6, Para. 1, lit. a GDPR and § 25, Para. 1 TTDSG). Consent may be withdrawn at any time.
You can configure your browser to be notified about the setting of cookies and to have various options for handling and using cookies. However, please note that after disabling cookies, the functionality of the website may be limited. For example, some fonts used on this website may not display correctly.
If cookies from third parties or for analysis purposes are used, we will inform you separately in this privacy policy and, if necessary, request your consent.
Server Log Files
We automatically collect and store information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These include:
-
Browser type and version
-
Operating system used
-
Referrer URL
-
Hostname of the accessing computer
-
Time of the server request
-
IP address
These data will not be combined with other data sources.
The collection of this data is based on Art. 6, Para. 1, lit. f GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimization of our website, which is why the server log files need to be collected.
Requests via Email, Phone, or Fax
If you contact us via email, phone, or fax, your request, including any personal data arising from it (name, request, etc.), will be stored and processed for the purpose of addressing your concerns. We will not share this data without your consent.
The processing of this data is based on Art. 6, Para. 1, lit. b GDPR, if your request is related to the fulfillment of a contract or necessary for pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of requests addressed to us (Art. 6, Para. 1, lit. f GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6, Para. 1, lit. a GDPR), if this has been requested.
The data you send to us will remain with us until you request its deletion, revoke your consent for its storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g., after the completion of processing your request). Mandatory legal provisions, particularly retention periods, remain unaffected.
6. Social Media
We have publicly accessible profiles on social networks like Facebook and Instagram. These networks typically analyze your user behavior when you visit their website. Visiting these networks through our website may trigger certain data processing activities that we describe here for your information.
If you are logged into your Facebook or Instagram account and visit our social media presence, the operator of the social media portal may assign this visit to your user account.
Your personal data may also be collected if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective social media portal. This data collection may occur, for example, via cookies or by recording your IP address. According to the service providers, the collected data may be transferred to the USA and other third countries. With the help of the data collected, the operators of social media portals can create your personal user profile, which is then used to display personalized advertisements both within and outside the social media platform. If you have a Facebook or Instagram account, the advertisements may be shown on any device you are logged into or have been logged into.
We are unable to fully track data processing activities on social media platforms. Depending on the provider, other data processing activities may be triggered that we are not aware of. You can find further information about this in the terms of use and privacy policies of the respective social media platforms.
Legal Basis
With our presence on Instagram and Facebook, we aim to present our company on the internet. This is a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6, Para. 1, lit. f GDPR. Any further processing by the social networks may have other legal bases, which are provided and are the responsibility of the operators.
Responsible Party and Assertion of Rights
When you visit us on Facebook or Instagram, we are jointly responsible with the operator for the data processing activities triggered by this visit. You can assert your rights (access, rectification, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, and complaints) both with us and with the operator of the respective social media platform.
We cannot have full influence over the data processing activities of the social media platforms. Our possibilities are mainly governed by their usage guidelines.
Storage Duration
We will delete the data we collect through our social media presence once you request its deletion, withdraw your consent for storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies. This is only the case if no other legal provisions prevent deletion. Stored cookies remain on your device until you delete them yourself.

We use Google Signals. This captures additional information about users who have activated personalized ads (interests and demographic data) in Google Analytics, and ads can be delivered to these users in cross-device remarketing campaigns.
In Google Analytics 4, IP address anonymization is enabled by default. Due to IP anonymization, your IP address will be truncated by Google within the member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. According to Google, the IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics will not be combined with other Google data.

8. Plugins and Tools
YouTube with Enhanced Privacy
This website integrates YouTube videos. The operator of the site is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. We use YouTube in enhanced privacy mode. According to YouTube, this mode ensures that YouTube does not store information about visitors to this website before they view the video. However, the transfer of data to YouTube partners is not necessarily excluded by this enhanced privacy mode. Therefore, YouTube – regardless of whether you watch a video – establishes a connection to the Google DoubleClick network. Once you start a YouTube video on this website, a connection to YouTube’s servers is established, and YouTube will be informed of which pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can directly associate your browsing behavior with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.
The company is certified under the "EU-US Data Privacy Framework" (DPF). The DPF is an agreement between the European Union and the USA, ensuring compliance with European data protection standards for data processing in the USA. Any company certified under the DPF commits to adhering to these data protection standards.
The use of YouTube is in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offers. This constitutes a legitimate interest under Article 6(1) lit. f GDPR. If explicit consent is requested, the processing is based solely on Article 6(1) lit. a GDPR and Section 25(1) TTDSG, insofar as the consent includes the storage of cookies or access to information on the user's device (e.g., device fingerprinting) in the sense of TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time. Further information on privacy at YouTube can be found in their privacy policy at: policies.google.com/privacy.
Font Awesome
This page uses Font Awesome to ensure uniform display of fonts and symbols. The provider is Fonticons, Inc., 6 Porter Road Apartment 3R, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. We have stored these fonts locally on our servers, so no data transfer to the provider takes place.
Google Maps
This page uses the Google Maps service. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. To use the features of Google Maps, it is necessary to store your IP address. This information is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. We have no control over this data transfer. When Google Maps is enabled, Google may use Google Web Fonts for uniform font display. When you call Google Maps, your browser loads the necessary web fonts into its browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly. The use of Google Maps is in the interest of an appealing representation of our online offers and easy identification of the places we have listed on the website.
Data transfer to the USA is based on the EU Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Details can be found here: privacy.google.com/businesses/gdprcontrollerterms/ and privacy.google.com/businesses/gdprcontrollerterms/sccs/. More information on the handling of user data can be found in Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.
